DC Earthquake
Washington was shocked this morning, affected by a 3.6 magnitude quake, the strongest in the region more than 36 years. Do you wake up at 5:04 pm by thunder? The epicenter was Germantown, Maryland. Apparently, the noise in the entire region could be felt, even in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. No damage was reported as a result of the earthquake. I woke up and thought a tree fell on my house. Can you feel it, where are you?
Size 3.6 DC Earthquake shook the area early Friday report in Washington with thousands of residents that they feel the ground tremble when she was asleep or awake. U.S. Geological Survey said the earthquake was centered in Montgomery County and struck at 5:04 pm
“The whole house shook,” said Carol Ripley, of Germantown. “I thought an explosion or a plane was flying over the house or something.”
“I went straight to system check – in their underwear”, he said.
The epicenter was near Germantown-Gaithersburg I -270 and Route 119 (39.167 ° N, 77.252 ° West), according to the USGS. It was 3.1 miles deep.
